The Bode saga continues...

She looks ridiculous, but Bode is not getting those stitches out!!

So.... after getting Bode back last Wednesday I continued to take her for the next three days back to the vet to get ivs and shots. We had pets when I was a kid, and I don't ever remember my parents sitting with them while they got ivs??? Here they have a bunch of different tables of varying heights that they put your pet on. They tie your dog's paw to the table with an old piece of gauze and then put the iv in that paw. You (the owner) must then sit there and try to keep your dog from pulling out his iv. The process takes about an hour or longer and works okay as long as other dogs don't have to get ivs too. Then it gets a little crazy. You can imagine.
So after three days of that, Bode was good to go until it was time to get her stitches out. During this process we had been feeding her "Ou fen" pronounced "oh fun" (hehe) which is lotus porridge. It's actually like a really bad tasting and smelling jello jiggler. Needless to say Bode has been starving with only getting to eat that because of her stomach surgery. She is constantly on the prowl for anything to put in her mouth.
Yesterday she discovered that she can scratch out all of her stitches with her back feet. She ended up ripping most of them out so we had to take her back to get re-stitiched! She had just gotten done, and we were on our way out of the vet's when she put her back foot up there and pulled half of them out again!!!! Back inside we went for another re-stitching. Chris and I decided that we had to come up with our own solution. The only cone that we could find was way too small, and that wasn't preventing her back feet from scratching anyway. We decided to put some socks on her back feet, and then we cut off one of the legs of an old pair of Chris's sweat pants and put it on her like a tube top. With little leg holes cut our for her front legs it is working quite well. She can't get to her stitches at all! Aside from looking really ridiculous I think it's going to work out this time. Hopefully!
