Thunderstorm

The sky had gone from blue to green to black. The wind was a gale, and the rain was falling in torrents. Outside was a storm. Inside was calm. The electricity was out, but the soft glow of the candle burned bright. The air was getting sticky and the atmosphere was electric---safe, but electric.
Isn't that always the case? The circumstances rage around me, but God is always there holding on to me no matter what is pulling on me, pounding on me, or pouring around me. It's scary, it's electric, but there's peace. I just have to hold on for the ride and look out in awe.
